Well, barely . . .

Sometimes I get a little discouraged when I only get a few submissions a month, and the only people who seem to note me are those submitters and new members.  Then again, you people probably feel discouraged that I don't get up the journals on time.  Well, at least I do get them up .

So here are the submissions from March:

Quite a different offering from a member who has offered consistan quality in his work.

I love the character of the heart with the arrow through it.  Go see and adore.

This wall paper reminds me of light traces or glowing underwater creatures.

Edit.  The link to Estrellada's work now works.  Estrellada, all the broken links are just coincidence, I promise.  And how could I hate the member of the club who most consistantly submits their work?

Yeah, so because of time constraint issues (blah, blah, blah, school, blah, blah, blah), and also because of a seeming die down of enthusiasm (which is probably due to other people's schooling/job commitments), February's journal is getting posted in March.  Hooray!  I've also recieved some comments that the link to the rules journal is not working, so hopefully this journal will fix the problem.

Black and White Wallpapers may be a small segment of those submitted to DeviantArt, but they are around, and any search will come up with a fair few, many of them of very high quality.  The following are a few black and white wallpapers from our current members.

Don't let the title fool you.  This is really a very well done starscape, featuring a few galaxies and nebulas (nebulae).

This simple wallpaper of the moon against a white background gives me a serene feeling.

An abstract wallpaper with lots of texture and great balance between white and black.  Reminds me of storms and glass.

Not strictly black and white, this predominantly black wallpaper features great watermarking technique behind the beautiful model.

Welcome to anyone who comes by.  Walls of Paper is going to be a club about wallpaper: for wallpaper artists, people who design desktop wallpaper part-time, or even those people who enjoy updating their desktops on a regular basis.  Club rules, activities, and resources are in the works.  

Plans for the club include Journals featuring Deviantart Wallpaper Categories, Journals featuring those categories of wallpapers that people think should happen, but probably won't, and Journals featuring techniques/methods of improving wallpaper construction.  I also would like to get more support going for the wallpapers forum, so that people can discuss such things as the lots of page views/few comments or favorites dilemma.

If anyone has any suggestions for the club, or things that they would like to see happen here, don't hesitate to reply to this journal, or send me a note.

2) Submission Policy:

       a)FREQUENCY: Members may submit ONE wallpaper or tutorial per month.  That means you get ONE submission per month, period.  This will help everyone get an opportunity at the spotlight--no one person will dominate the club gallery.

       b)CONTENT: In order to promote trust between the members, and to reach the widest base of Deviant-Art members possible, we ask that you DO NOT SUBMIT MATURE CONTENT.  The most delicate, innocent 13 year old around should be able to wander through this club on accident and be okay with the content here.

        c)HOW TO SUBMIT: Send a note to the club with a link to the wallpaper that you want us to post in the gallery.

3)Language: Again, in order to promote trust and fellowship between the members, I would ask that you keep things clean.  The most delicate, innocent thirteen year old around should be able to come through here and have no problem with things.
      
4) CONTACT: Members will recieve contact from the club on a weekly basis via notes, but the journal features will only be updated on a monthly basis.  The once a month updates of the journals will make it possible for the specific topics to get all the spotlight that they can before things change.

5)QUESTIONS/PROBLEMS:  Any questions/concerns about the club should be directed to WallsofPaper via note.  Please, if you have any problems with the club itself, contact us.  Keep it private, and we'll work to resolve the issue.
